Image Stitcing

Problem

Given two images shot in the same scene, but different angels. The challenge is to ombine these images.

Method

First, use feature detectors like ORB to find several key points in both images, then compute matches between feature descriptors of two images using Lowe’s ratio test. Finally, using the selected feature point pairs to fit a 3x3 homography matrix, apply that matrix to the target image, and then add the transformed image onto the baseline image.

  • Find ORB feature points.

  • Best 20 feature matches.

  • The final stitched image.
